Tom - isn't this cool? I have been in the mood to redecorate my place lately, first starting with repainting my fireplace. Next up is new custom wall art and pillows for Fall. Instead of just buying something generic from a box store I'd like to create my own design and have it printed. It means so much more that way - you're putting your own stamp on things. I'd like to come up with a cool way to hang the fabric too. Hmm...now you got me thinking!

ah thanks for the tip Kathy - I've been using/loving ColourLovers for years now - I had no idea they could print to fabric like that.

Mmmmm as cheesy as it sounds, I'd love an apron/oven-mitt set with nice colours/patterns on them. I have an old turquoise set but it's gotten dirty now and I can't imagine it would be hard to sew those.

Hmmm, also the thought of fun drapes is tempting! How would you use this Kathy?

I was thinking that he looks comfortable in what he's wearing! Too funny. How many t-shirt changes did he have 4? but he was wearing the same jeans for the entire "journey". I will not buy Levis jeans any more after watching a documentary about the working conditions in their factories in China.

well, I'm going to go with branding.

Conscious Minds Productions created the video, and they claim their services are:
-Branded Entertainment
-Web-series
-Corporate Media
-TV/Web Commercials

they also list Levi's as one of their clients: http://www.consciousminds.net/work.html

It's clever, it's subtle, and I like it. This pushing-the-limits or technology and budget to produce unique, entertaining, and memorable advertising speak FAR MORE than formulaic TV spots or magazine ads. Show me how your product is exceptional, don't show me how it's the same as everybody else's.

Jeans are jeans, but if you want to sell me jeans based on the idea of aspiring to an adventurous & spontaneous lifestyle - then you have to show me those qualities through your advertising strategies as well.

Levi's has consistently had excellent design and really poured creativity into their campaigns, this makes me happy for them to see that they're taking the next logical step (and also using YouTube, mankind's richest and most accessible medium for 'advertainment')

That would be SOOOO fun!! I wish I was in a position to do so. If you're really into it, my friend Juli would totally jump on board. She is a chef/baker extraordinaire, and has wanted to open a bakery forever. I should forward her the information.

Bryna, they have asked on facebook if anyone would like to open a Cupcakes franchise...are you interested in pooling your resources and making cupcakes with me? I'd love to see one of their stores in person both to eat the goods and to see their branding at work!

The clips I've watched are hilarious! Thanks for sharing these gals with me. I really do love their branding. A friend on Twitter also pointed me to Eat My Words - a cool cupcake bakery in T.O. that gives all their proceeds to charity. Check them out: http://www.eatmywords.org/index.php

What makes this unique amongst campaigns is that they're leveraging the internet for it's advantages, not just tossing ads that *could* have been printed on it.

Youtube is THE most rich multimedia experience and THE most powerful tool for marketing that the world knows - I'm at a loss for why this free tool gets so ignored by most companies.

Old Spice & Starbucks are the only brands I've seen really USE the power of Youtube: personalized video replies.

It doesn't take much for a company to set up a studio, and the cost of a camera better than Youtube's quality is ~1000$, and a microphone to capture the audio at pro quality is ~200$. Maybe 500$ in lights.

Basically how much brand interaction could you do in 1 day (8 hours) of responding to consumers on youtube. Would the cost of hiring one person for one day outweigh the cost of producing one commercial?

Would answering actual consumers on Youtube be more beneficial to your brand than running a spot on a show they may not watch?

I'm glad Old Spice 'gets it' and I hope more brands follow suit soon!

Youtube is THE most rich multimedia experience and THE most powerful tool for marketing that the world knows – I'm at a loss for why this free tool gets so ignored by most companies.

Old Spice & Starbucks are the only brands I've seen really USE the power of Youtube: personalized video replies.
